Is the Honeymoon Period Over?
Google Analytics, Google Adsense, Goals, Traffic, Dig, G April 7th, 2007I had no idea what kind of reception I would recieve when I first started this journey a week ago on April 1. I have found that everyone who’s commented and who I have talked to are very supportive of this journey to $10k a month. From day one everything was going great, the hits were rolling in from one of my posts which I submitted to Digg, people were commenting, and my adsense income was much better than I had expected.
Now after the first week, the blog has gained a bit of traction. Readers are becoming regulars, which is amazing, and coming back and checking for updates. New readers aren’t really making their way over here yet. This doesn’t bother me, because the site is still so new and not much backlinking has taken place.
What has me searching for a solution is the fact that my adsense income has dropped from where it was. I know that adsense is more unstable than Britney Spears, I went from $2.50 on day 2 to $0. This is actually a good thing, it is going to force me to work harder bringing up adsense earnings, and also building more stable income streams!

Hey Casey,
Ya, adsense is a pain sometimes, just stick with it, build those backlinks and it’ll slowly rise.
Like in field of dreams “if you build it they will come”, hell if it worked for Costner.
Keep your chin up.

I know you are going to make it. In the beginning it will go up and down but the more you make the more I see the visitors coming.

Don’t worry about Adsense right now, worry about traffic. Get this blog to 5K Uniques/day before spend much time worrying about what it makes, unless $1/day is really significant to you (not sure where you live).

If it worked for Costner, it can work for Casey!
Good insight Ginene, I hadn’t really thought about it like that.
Crack, I’m not too worried about the adsense dip. I would have prefered it to have gone up, but no biggie! Yah 5k a day will be a nice amount of visitors!

This is my first visit and I have to say, this seems a great blog with interesting content. Hopefully that’s similar to my own
Wow, those are great earnings for a first week of Adsense! I haven’t monetised yet, but I’ll definately be checking back here when I do, hunting for some tips.
Michelle.
